Merry Christmas & a D-Lish challenge

It might seem a bit strange that I have had time to scrap on Christmas day but what can I say...best day ever! :D  We had one of the "simplest" Christmas days I can remember - we moved one week and one day ago & no family around - and I was actually a bit worried that the not so wee ones would be upset today but no! It was just the four of us, we walked the dog, had a lovely lunch, played with presents and did as we pleased, which for me and Miss M meant scrapping! Our new space is far from ready and I can't find my favourite cutter or my caddy with all my essentials but that didn't stop me.
So here it is, my lo for the December D-Lish challenge...
Such a beautiful kit. Every month I set myself a little challenge to use everything in my kit on one lo but there is just so much that I am yet to succeed. I loved the adore you sentiment but found the wood just a little heavy so I copied it in white alpha stickers which gave me my title as well as a little more texture in the background at the same time.
And just for fun here is the state of a new craft space. Beautiful natural light but still a bit of work to do!
I hope you have all had a wonderful day and thanks for taking the time to pop by my little blog..Jx

Love you 2 - D-Lish October Challenge

The D-Lish cyber challenge was on the weekend and I think I achieved a PB for me. I completed 3 of the 4 challenges by Sunday night as well as this one for the monthly blog challenge...
I have also started my page for the 4th challenge so fingers crossed I get that one completed as well.
This is the mood board and link..

When my JAP kit arrived this month I was completely in love, the colours are GORGEOUS so I was very excited to get going on this one. It is also one of my fave photos of my 2 during 1st day of school photos from a few years ago.
Anyhoo, I best keep moving so thanks for looking and have a great day..Jx

Kraft+ melon challenge

Happy Friday everyone. Today I am sharing my entry for the September challenge over at Kraft+.
About a month ago I was looking at my little teacup full of sequins and got an idea that I wanted to use them to make the background for a lo.

This idea has been sitting in my head just waiting for the right moment to make an appearance and today is the day :D It is not exactly as I envisioned it but when I saw this challenge I knew this was the one to at least have a first go.

How gorgeous are those colours?! I think I am going to make another lo using more colours but for the moment I am well pleased with how this turned out.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend planned and thanks for looking..Jx

Simple Pleasures - Stuck?! Sept 1st challenge

I loved this sketch over at Stuck?! the minute I saw it. So much so that I started scrapping with my CKC kit before I had even taken photos of it, and didn't even start with any mixed media medium. I may find that I add a few splashes of something in the next day or 2 but for the moment I am enjoying the clean finish.
This is the sketch & the link

Thanks for looking & have a great day..Jx

CKC September kit

I haven't joined in any blog challenges for some time but CKC is one of my fave ways to get back into the swing of things and this months kit is so gorgeous I even completed a lo before I took any photos of my :o
So doing things a little bit in reverse, here is my kit...
Here is the original...

And here is the link to Counterfeit Kit
I have included lots of papers & not many embellies which is the opposite to what I usually use most of lately but I am a little short on cards atm so am thinking that all these papers might turn into beeauutiful creations if I set my mind to it ;) My lo will be making an appearance soon.

Hope you are having a wonderful day & thanks for looking..Jx

Show Us Your Stuff Sept challenge

I'm on a roll Mikey...
This months challenge over at SUYS was super fun and as well as using the sketch I decided to have a go at Krisy's string & ink technique which me thinks will definately be appearing again on future projects :D
Here is the link & the sketch...

Well, back to the craft desk where my next project is half completed.
Hope you had a great day & thanks for popping by..Jx

There is this boy...Scrap the Boys

Hello there. Well I seem to be back into the swing of things (you know, dishes in the sink, beds unmade and scrapping happily :D) & this lo for Scrap the Boys came together quite nicely last night.
this months challenge is based on the following quote and has to include yourself in the photo which is rather a deal for me as I REALLY don't like being in front of the camera!

Just as a little bit of useless information I included the little #46 ephemera because my beautiful boy was born on the 4th June :)
Anyhoo, hope you are all having a wonderful day..Jx

D-Lish August challenge...just!

Well it has been an obscenely long time since my last ramble. There have been a couple of reasons for my hiatus but I am back today with a lo for the D-Lish August challenge. Hopefully I will be a little more regular from now on.
And here is the link and the mood board...

Rather gorgeous isn't it? As well as being perfect for all those boy piccies.
I am going to keep this short and sweet and keep moving tonight so hope you have had a wonderful day & God bless..Jx

May challenge @ D-Lish Scraps

Hi there, I have been so busy crocheting this month that I almost forgot to pop this lo into the challenge over at D-Lish this month. It has been sitting on my desk for almost 2 weeks!
I know I say it all the time but the JAP kits are just SOOO awesome :D
This month I set myself the challenge to try to use everything in the kit but I still didn't manage it. I think the only thing on this page that wasn't in the kit are the little wooden hearts and I did colour the muslin to make it a better colour fit to my photos but I still have plenty of leftovers.
Well, back to the crochet now (we welcomed a new grand daughter into our family on Thursday & she wasn't due for another 2 weeks, hence the frantic crocheting to get her blanket ready)
Thanks for popping by & have a great day..Jx

CKC Blog Hop

Hi All,
Well it is that time of the month for the blog hop over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge. This month I have made some cards with my kit. The 2 tag cards I made when I first put my kit together as I hadn't scrapped for a bit and wanted to start small to get the creative juices flowing again. The middle card I made based on challenge #3 - using escher effects. I grabbed a set of my nested dies and just used the whole lot at once on 2 papers that I liked together. Then I just changed every other square to get my effect. The good thing is you even get 2 cards out of this, very quickly :)
The next person in the blog hop is Julene over at Julene By Design and just in case you get lost along the way you can start at the beginning here at CKC. Hope you have fun and pick up some great new ideas along the way.
Thanks for popping by & have a great day..Jx

CKC challenge #2

Hi All
Today I am sharing my second lo as GDT for Counterfeit Kit Challenges. This challenge was a choice of 2 sketches and I do LOVE a good sketch. They are definately my most favourite challenge. I just find them the easiest way to get going, particularly if the mojo has gone for a bit of a holiday.
This is the sketch I chose and the link...

And here is my lo...

I hope you are getting a chance to join in the fun this month & thanks for popping by..Jx

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #1

Well, I am back today with my GDT share for the first challenge of the month over at Counterfeit Kit Challenge. In honour of Quirky Kits, the inspo for this months counterfeiting (is that even a word? lol) you must FEATURE a Q and/or a K in your project.
Here is what I came up with...

A fairly simple lo with lots of layering but this one was about the story & I am pleased with how it turned out. (Please excuse the shadow of my head in the bottom of the photo though. I took this at night) There is something extremely satisfying about using up your existing/old stash and there is no better inspiration for doing so than CKC, I love it! Here is the link to CKC again so you can join in all the fun and check out all the other contributions.
Thanks for popping by & have a great day..Jx

Guest designer for CKC

When Jemma asked me to be a guest designer for CKC this month I was really excited. I had been a bit quiet on the scrapping front as have been doing a lot of crocheting lately and I thought this is just what I need to get back into my scrapbooking. YAY :)
I headed straight to my craft room and then realised why it had been a while:(
 I couldn't even sit down...

A couple of weeks ago I found a blank canvas and decided to make something of it. Problem is I don't really know what so this has just been sitting there waiting for inspiration to hit & taking up my entire desk in the process. Time for a BIG clean up. I even shouted myself a brand new craft mat for the occassion. The old one was well over 10 years old, they are definately worth it. I decided to ease myself back into it by starting with some cards (I can't show you those yet as they are for the blog hop) but boy oh boy, once I started there was no stopping me! I finished 3, yep you read that right, a big 3 layouts in ONE day. Ok so the dishes didn't get done but the beds were made.
So to get things started we had a super choice of three kits to base our conterfeit on. The originals were from Quirky Kits & are shown here. I ended up combining a few elements from each & because the first kit was called "It's a party" & I was a wee bit excited to be guest designer and scrapping again, I called my kit "Party @ my place". And here it is...

I find I dont scrap with a lot of papers anymore so concentrated on more embellie elements.
Well I better stop there so you have time to move onto the other designers. Here is the link to get to Just Jimjams and also back to CKC.
Have a wonderful day and hope you will pop back on the 6th for my first reveal..Jx

Scrapbook Boutique April challenge

I really am a feast or a famine when it comes to blogging. Once I get started I am fine but when I drop off, well... that's it for some time so it would seem :D
Todays share is for the Scrapbook Boutique monthly challenge and is my second soft & girly lo in a row...
This particular photo has been hanging around for quite some time (about 5 years in fact!) waiting to be scrapped but this challenge was just right and I am pleased with the final result.
Here is a link to the challenge and the mood board...

Isn't is just delightful?
Well I am off to make some cards for a girlfriend now so who know when I will back??
Have a great day..Jx

SOS April challenge

And here is another one. This lo if for the challenge at Scrap Our Stash. Haven't done one of these for a long time but despite my lack of blogging I have been getting quite a bit of scrapping done and although I wasn't too sure about how this was going to come together when I started, I am very happy with the end result. Phew ;)
I took my inspo from the colours which were fun & not a combination I would normally play with and got plenty of clouds in with my die cuts, tag & brad.

D-Lish April challenge

Hello there. It has definately been awhile since my last blog and decided today was the day to fix that. I completed this lo about a week ago and if I didn't do something soon I would miss the challenge altogether! The D-Lish kit this month was so soft and girly that I just had to use this photo of my dd taken at her big brothers wedding. The photograher caught this moment & I just love it...

I had a lot of fun putting this lo together, probably because my gorgeous girl is not always so girly these days but I think even she loved being dressed up on this day.
Here is the link & the mood board at D-Lish.

Hope you are having a wonderful day & thanks for popping by..Jx

Brotherly Love - D-Lish Feb challenge

Hi there. Although I have been reaching my goal to complete at least one lo a week I could feel the ol' mojo slipping slightly of late & I don't know about the rest of you but I find a good clean up of my craft room  really seems to get the creative juices flowing again so that is what I did yesterday. Massive clean up, sort out & a small rearrange of furniture and sure enough I am feeling quite rejuvenated again :) Found a half completed lo which I finished yesterday & then today I finished this lo for the D-Lish monthly challenge...
Here is the mood board & link up...

Righto, have to head back to my desk to finish lo #3 (hopefully the texture paste is dry now)
Thanks for looking & have a great day..Jx

Hello February..WW1 colour challenge.

Hi again on what is a beautiful day down in my neck of the woods. Thankfully my craft room has been seeing a little of bit of action so far in 2016 and today I have my offering for the WW1 Feb challenge which is white with chocolate. Easy peasy with a chocolate & white dog in the house :D
Having said that, there were a couple of false starts before I was happy with this!

Hope you are having a wonderful day & thanks for looking..Jx

Sand Angels - Show Us Your Stuff

Show No. 2 for January :) This is for the challenge at Show Us Your Stuff. My first inspo from their mood board was the daisies but the photo and the lo I had in mind was just not coming together so I went back through my photos and this one of my daughter and my step-grand daughter jumped out at me. It was perfect for the bottom 3 images of the mood board. After that, things just flowed...
My hand made item is the heart from Charms Creations. Although black is not exactly a summery colour, I wanted to make the photo stand out and I hope I have achieved that.
This is the mood board & link...

Such a wonderful, summery start to the year :)
Thanks for popping by and have a great day..Jx

Now we are together - 123 Challenge

Happy New Year. Well, I am hoping it is not a case of early ripe, early rotten but I set myself a goal to complete one lo a week this year and I have completed 2 challenges already :D
This one is for 123 Challenge...
You must use the colour yellow, the word together & texture - check, check & check. I used a Tim Holtz stencil to apply gloss gel medium & the word together is in my title quote.
And here is the link again...

Thanks for popping by & I will be back soon with my next offering. Have a great day..Jx
